Ms Buthaina writing you this from New York City :)

Tuesday, April 01, 2008

Hello from New York!

Hi Learners,

Hope you are doing well. How are your classes going? I miss you all.

I'm having a wonderful time here at the Convention, TESOL 2008, as I've learned a lot today. I participated in a long but very useful session from 9 am to 4 pm, titled "English Language Learners as Writers in a Digital Age", and I'm going to attend another one in 30 minutes; it's going to start at 5 pm to 9 pm.

The first session was really great and I've already learned a lot about how we can use Google Documents for our writing activities, and how to create podcasts using the program GaragBand (it's for Mac computers) and I'm very happy about it. We did a hands-on or a practive activity, and I've managed to record my first podcast using GarageBand. I will try to upload it to this blog later so that you can listen to it, and then, let me know what you think.

I'll talk to you more about the convention or conference, soon but I have to go to the second session now.

Best regards!

Interesting & Useful English Websites!

Hi Class,

I'd like to welcome you to our Class Blog, hoping that you find it helpful to you throughout the course.

The following is the URL of Rome English Blog, which is a blog created by my colleague, Michael Ivy who lives and works in Rome, Italy: http://romelfblog.blogspot.com/

Michael has created the Rome English Blog for his English classes, and I found it very useful in terms of the links he adds every now and then, in addition to the announcements and comments he publishes usually.

I suggest that you start with the Oxford University Press links shown on the right top corner.

Enjoy!
